Philosophy of Care

I believe health care should be equitable, ethical, and accessible, supporting both healing and overall well-being. I recognize the impact of stigma, oppression, and discrimination, and I strive to challenge these forces while minimizing the harm they cause.

My approach integrates the biological, psychological, and social aspects of health, with an emphasis on compassion, empathy, and respect for each person’s unique story. I work to build trusting therapeutic relationships where people feel seen, understood, and supported.

These relationships can be transformative—providing the safety needed to address trauma, overcome challenges, and move toward resilience and wholeness. My goal is to partner with patients in their journey toward greater self-understanding, healing, and fulfillment.

Therapeutic Style

My therapeutic style is rooted in a humanistic–existential approach that values each person’s unique experience and capacity for growth. I draw on meaning-centered psychotherapy (logotherapy) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help clients explore purpose, clarify values, and live with greater authenticity and resilience.

I also incorporate a psychodynamic perspective, which emphasizes how past experiences and relationships shape present patterns, offering insight into deeper aspects of the self. In addition, I integrate supportive psychotherapy into medication management appointments—a flexible, collaborative approach that reduces distress, strengthens coping strategies, and enhances daily functioning.

Together, these approaches provide a compassionate, individualized framework that supports healing, self-understanding, and meaningful change.

Clinical Approach

I strive to provide evidence-based, pragmatic psychiatric care. My treatment decisions are guided by a combination of well-researched scientific studies, clinical expertise, and each client’s hopes, values, and unique circumstances.

During medication management appointments, I integrate brief supportive psychotherapy with a humanistic–existential perspective to address both symptoms and the broader human experience. I do not offer psychotherapy-only appointments. If you are seeking psychotherapy only, I encourage you to explore www.psychologytoday.com to find a therapist in your area.
